THE POWER OF THE HOLY GHOST (part 1)

Romans 15:13 “Now the God of hope will fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound on hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

Power is different from power. Demons are powerful, because the devil himself is power. But let those who know their God rejoice, because the power the devil has, is not on us that are in the Holy Ghost, but on all that are slaves to sin. Are you still living in sin? Then the devil has overpowered you, but there is a way to break free from the power of the darkness, and that way is through Jesus Christ. The Holy Ghost power will give you not utterance, and even words of wisdom. In Luke 21:15 “For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist”. This is just one of the unlimited powers of the Holy Ghost, the Holy Ghost will also give new tongues, a kind of tongue that is a Heavenly language, which even no enemy will be able to hear what you have to say to God. In Acts 2:4 “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance”. The Holy Ghost won’t stop at giving you new tongues, but also give you power. Many of you will think power to do what, but yes power to cast out demons, to heal the sick, to set free the oppressed. The power of the Holy Ghost gives you strength, even more than you can ever imagine. That’s why in Romans 8:11 “If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.”

But mind you, the power of the Holy Ghost will not come upon you if you do not first accept Him, and let Him come upon you. In Acts 10:38 “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him”. You see that God did not just give even His own Son power, but anointed Him with the Holy Ghost and power. You want to be able to say to the sick, “be healed” then you need the Holy Ghost power. If you read the book of Acts 5:12-16, you will see how the disciple of Jesus, Peter did miracles and wonders because He has the Holy Ghost from the day of Pentecost. You can also do all these only if you are ready to pay the price like each and every one of the disciples of Jesus Christ. Are you ready to be a disciple? The Apostles were filled with Joy, peace and hope, which they were able to go out and preach the good news to the people.
