Faith as we know is the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrew 11:1). That is why you do not see, but have faith. We believe in the things we do not see, and thats when our Faith become stronger. If Abraham had lived a longer life like Methuselah. He would have seen His generation, and by then if God tells Him He is going to be the Father of all nations. He wouldn't have believed. Because He has seen them already. He would have just said "oh, I know, I have seen them already".
But Faith is by hearing the word of God (Romans 10:17). Remember in John 1:1. the Bible says the word was God. So by hearing the word, You are knowing more about God. By knowing more about God, it means You are conquering the world (1st John 5:4). And by being born of God, it means you must abstain from sin.(1st John 3:9). Faith again is not by sight, but by hearing and reading the Word of God. That's why the Bible says in the book of Romans 8:24. Why hope for something you have seen. By doing that , you are not exercising faith, because faith only comes by not seeing and hoping to have. Now what is this Hope?
Hope is a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen. You most especially need to be patient in hope, in the book of Romans 12:12 "Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer". So you must know that note just to say you hope, but also put your hope in prayer. Now if you go further to Romans 15:13 "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope". Now you see that our God is the God of hope. So if you are patient enough, Joy, Peace and the Power of the Holy Spirit will be abound to you. Now you must know that you need to be cleanse before you can put your hope in God. as you know, hoping in God is by praying to God. Because thats the only way you can communicate with God.
In Psalm 66:18 " If I regard Iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me". First you need to give your life to Christ. If you go ahead to read Proverbs 10:28 "The hope of the righteous brings joy, but the expectation of the wicked will perish". So now I want you to close your eyes and ask God for forgiveness of sin, He is faithful and just to forgive you of all your sins. Tell Him you love Him, and that you will never go back to the world.
You will be strengthen once the Holy spirit come upon you, as the Bible says in Romans 8:11 "But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you". So you must know that once you have the Holy Spirit, You will also receive Divine strength.
As I said earlier on Hope is dependent on you ability to wait, and not just waiting alone, but waiting on the Lord. the bible says in Isaiah 40:31 "But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint". That's why when you are hoping for something from the Lord, you put it into prayer and even fasting. My brethren please put your hope in the Lord. As it says in Psalm 39:7 “And now, O Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in you". And as you put your hope in the Lord. May God Almighty grant you the grace to wait upon Him. Amen.
